The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Manager of Workforce Development to help implement, manage, grow, and evaluate capacity building efforts for the public health workforce and systems redesign through the Department of Public & Ecosystem Health. Specifically, this Manager will help to lead and manage and complete project work to fulfill performance expectations for state and federally-funded workforce development projects. This will include schedule and meeting management, workgroup leadership, curriculum development and delivery, project monitoring and evaluation, and report writing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant public health experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), data collection and management (Qualtrics, Excel), Canvas and other learning management systems
  • Proven experience with curriculum development and delivery
  • High level of motivation, and ability to innovate, especially when driven by data and needs
  • Self-directed and demonstrates a high degree of initiative
  • Record of success as a member of a dynamic, fast-paced team
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise sound and ethical judgment when acting on behalf of the University

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Public Health
  • Clinical/medical experience
  • Degree or certificate in instructional design
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing programs
  • Demonstrated success producing high-quality curriculum and project-related outputs
  • Demonstrated success contributing to and facilitating multidisciplinary intervention teams
  • Demonstrated success mentoring or teaching others (peers, community members, students)
  • Demonstrated success leading NYS and federally funded projects

Important Details about the Position

  • This is a hybrid position located in Ithaca, NY with the specific schedule to be determined between you and the hiring manager.
  • This is a full-time one-year term position with potential for extension contingent upon funding and performance.
  • We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship, now or in the future, for this position.
  • Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.

While the regular business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, the specific schedule may change to meet the needs of the business, requiring employees to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and University holidays and scheduled breaks.
