What You'll Do/ A Day in The Life Typically Includes

The Digital Partnerships Manager leads Baker & Taylor's relationships with digital publishers and vendors, shaping strategic initiatives that expand digital offerings, drive customer engagement, and increase revenue across public, school, and academic markets.

This role combines high-level partner management with deep cross-functional collaboration, aligning internal teams and affiliates around shared digital goals.

The ideal candidate will bring a balance of relationship-building, operational fluency, and strategic insight to champion B&T's leadership in the library digital content space.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):

Publisher & Vendor Relations



  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for B&T's digital publisher and vendor partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
  • Identify and acquire new digital content partners in response to evolving library market trends.
  • Oversee publisher contract processes, account setup, and catalog inclusion in Title Source and third-party data feeds.
  • Partner with infrastructure, QA, and metadata teams to ensure timely ingestion and display of digital content.


Marketing, Research, and Strategy



  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop and refine go-to-market strategies based on engagement metrics and customer trends.
  • Provide strategic oversight and advisory input on publisher-facing campaigns, including discount initiatives that drive customer outcomes
  • Provide advisory input on e-marketing platforms, ensuring alignment with market needs
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and inform product and partnership strategy.


Digital Operations Support



  • Provide strategic oversight of the digital content ingestion process, serving as the escalation point for publisher-facing issues.
  • Translate digital content trends and innovations into actionable recommendations for internal product and business development.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with Product, Sales, QA, and Data Management to improve the digital customer experience and content discoverability.
  • Supervise the digital content QA/support team, providing coaching and strategic direction.
  • Use business intelligence tools (Excel, Oracle, SplashBI) to generate actionable insights that guide planning and performance review.


Travel Requirements

This position requires overnight travel. Travel approximately 10-20%.

Work Environment

Hybrid work (3 days in office Tues/Wed/Thursday)

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience



  • 7-10 years of experience in digital publishing, content partnerships, library technology, or related fields
  • Deep understanding of digital content formats and library market systems
  • Experience managing external partnerships and leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office; experience with data tools like Oracle, Splash, Google Analytics, or similar systems
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, collaborative work environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and lift/move up to 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally stand, walk, talk, and hear. Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
