Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee. Additional Department Summary: The Alabama Life Research Institute (ALRI) and the Alabama Center for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (ALA AI) at The University of Alabama invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow. This position, funded by ALRI, offers an initial one-year appointment, with renewal contingent upon availability of funding. Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in computer science, medical, health informatics, or other related field. Skills and Knowledge: Strong programming/scripting capabilities. Skills in data science, artificial intelligence, and health informatics. Strong written and verbal communication skills regarding research results. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with deep/graph neural networks and active involvement in data science and machine learning projects. Experience in multimodal data fusion (e.g., MRI, EEG, and health records). Background in computational modeling and machine learning.
