Summary

We're seeking a skilled and detail-driven Configuration Management Administrator to manage and enhance our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is central to maintaining accurate configuration data and supporting automated discovery across our IT landscape. You'll work closely with infrastructure and process teams to troubleshoot discovery issues, optimize integrations, and ensure alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and service mapping standards.

Key Responsibilities



  • Maintain and update configuration items (CIs), relationships, and attributes in the ServiceNow CMDB


  • Support and optimize ServiceNow Discovery, including MID servers, probes, sensors, and patterns


  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage credentials, schedules, and error resolution


  • Validate and customize CI classes, workflows, and attributes to meet organizational needs and best practices


  • Enforce CMDB governance policies to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance


  • Assist with Service Mapping and align efforts with CSDM principles


  • Integrate ServiceNow with external systems (REST APIs, web services, databases) to enhance CMDB functionality


  • Apply data normalization and standardization practices to improve CMDB quality


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a similar technical discipline or comparable experience


  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience administering and configuring ServiceNow CMDB


  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification is a plus


  • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification a plus


  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including probes, sensors, patterns, and MID servers


  • Knowledge of CSDM, Service Mapping, and ITIL configuration management practices


  • Proficiency in ServiceNow integrations (REST APIs, web services, and database connections)


  • Strong understanding of CMDB structure, including CI classes, relationships, and workflows


  • Proven ability to assess environments, identify gaps, and implement process improvements


  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in MS Office tools


  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (seated/standing) for extended periods
