The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program Manager, under the direction of the OMFS Residency Program Director, is responsible for managing the administration of the residency program as outlined in the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), American Dental Association, Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Program Requirements. The residency program manager provides administrative support and is a key knowledge resource for General Practice Residency, Pediatric Dental Residency, and Oral Maxillofacial Residency Program Directors, faculty, Chief Residents, residents, interns and observers. Collectively, will ensure efficient planning and execution of activities related to maintaining program accreditation, residency recruitment, resident education, and the wellness of OMFS residents while providing direct support to the program director. Additionally, the residency program manager will interact with faculty, residents, institutional and regulatory administrative officers as directed by the program director, and serve as the liaison with other departments and outside institutions.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible, under the direction of the Program Director, for CODA compliance and accreditation. (5%)
  • Prepares, updates and manages ongoing accreditation information and reports satisfying regulatory requirements. (5%)
  • Manages annual accreditation reviews and site visit preparation processes. (5%)
  • Responsible for the oversight, scheduling and execution of didactic curriculum, community service, and lectures (5%)
  • Manage the preparation and submission of all postgraduate training verifications. (5%)
  • Maintains and oversees updating of Residency website. (10%)
  • Assists in applicant screening, selection, and interview process. Oversees the resident interview process, including schedules, materials, events, and other logistics. Participates in the resident ranking process and reporting (10%)
  • Oversees resident initial appointment credentialing, reappointment and termination. (10%)
  • Oversees new resident orientation, training, and access to institutional systems as well as graduation planning. (10%)
  • Assists and advises Program Director / Chief Residents(s) in creating yearly resident rotation schedules incorporating curriculum requirements, creating yearly program call, conference and vacation schedules. (10%)
  • May assist and advise with Dental Assistant program curriculum (5%)
  • May assist with inventory, and ordering of supplies and equipment (5%)
  • May assist and coordinate schedules for Dental Assistant students (5%)
  • Mentors students to help achieve professional growth and development (5%)
  • Remains current on all job-related knowledge, skills and continuing education (5%)

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience:
  • 4-6 years Five years of graduate medical education experience or related Required

    • Ability to organize, schedule, and prioritize work for self and others to meet deadlines.

    • Advanced Microsoft Office product proficiency including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Visio.
