Physical sciences reporter, C&EN Reports to: Executive editor, physical sciences Overview of C&EN: C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News) produces authoritative, award-winning journalism from around the world of chemistry, covering research, education, industry, funding, and policy. It is published by, but editorially independent of, the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world's largest scientific society dedicated to a single discipline. C&EN is widely considered one of the major benefits of ACS membership. Its magazine reaches more than 200,000 ACS members, and its website draws more than 13 million page views per year. We are seeking a reporter who will keep C&EN readers informed about research in chemical engineering, materials science, and related fields. What you'll do:

Job Location: This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. office. ACS employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of two onsite workdays per week. ACS offers relocation assistance, if applicable. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $75,000 - $85,000 per year. ACS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account or health care savings account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and 4-week work from anywhere; each benefit is subject to the terms of the applicable program.
