Supervises laboratory personnel, coordinates laboratory testing for both internal and external customers, and provides technical solutions to customer problems.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

This role does have direct reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, schedule, assign and supervise laboratory work, which includes chemistry, mechanical and microbiological related testing on Parker and competitive devices.
  • Collaborate with engineers on the design and construction of pilot models, special testing equipment and new test procedures.
  • Analyze test data, interpret test results and write test reports in timely manner.
  • Maintain laboratory records including lab notebooks, test reports and work requests.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with the Document Control, R&D, and Quality Assurance functions.
  • Follows Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Maintain safe and clean environment in the laboratory.
  • Manage technical service personnel and provide technical guidance to customers.
  • Occasionally visit customers to understand processing and suggest solutions.
  • Support production in conducting batch release testing.
  • Maintain current knowledge of testing and procedures as related to company products.
  • Conduct competitive testing and provide reports to Sales and Marketing.
  • Coordinate material and supplies procurement for the lab to ensure that the lab has necessary inventory to support program schedule.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Provide leadership and knowledge in lab expansion and procurement of new test equipment.
  • Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company via invention and patent applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in engineering related field. Master's degree will be a plus.
  • 7 -10 years of experience in supervising role - managing a lab preferred.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in polymeric filtration will be a desirable qualification.
  • Must be accurate, methodical and well organized.
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze complex and diverse information.
  • Identify and resolve problems for both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to develop project plans on complex projects.
  • Good interpersonal and management skills.
  • Fluent in written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other laboratory relates software required.
  • Experienced in customer service related to laboratory testing and problem solving.
  • Ability to travel domestically and overseas
  • Must be able to be onsite 5 days a week.
