Development Engineer - CONTRACTOR

This role requires technical experiences related to building cutting-edge product and Development experiences. This role needs to be comfortable working with the manufacturing industry as well as high technology-driven products with LG and customers. This role is focused on developing a project and deeply involving technical requirements in the development as well as issue resolving. Customer & Tier companies communication and development management to ensure strength and innovation in the LG automotive business. This role directly influences the integration project development across all LG and automotive manufactures and requires confidence in identifying problems, communicating the concerns and driving for closure in order to deliver the best development quality within the time frame with build trust while demonstrating excellent features implementation and problem resolving skills. This role must have a humble service mindset, and be a results-driven self-motivator.

Responsibilities:



  • Resolve software and hardware issues and communicate effectively with customers to manage and resolve these issues
  • Manage design requests from OEM customers, develop APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes, and oversee third-party solutions
  • Identify, manage, and document all feature-related issues, publishing a weekly status report
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams including Validation, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, and customers to ensure alignment and issue resolution
  • Facilitate communication with LGE HQ cross-functional teams across various programs and departments
  • Support multiple teams such as Program Management, Validation, and Quality, ensuring cohesive project execution
  • Release weekly development progress reports and maintain regular communication with customer engineering teams
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electric Engineering, or a related field
  • Prior experience or knowledge with:


    • Automotive component development or testing
    • Software development using C, C++, QNX, Linux, Cinemo, XML, HMI, CAN network, and embedded systems
    • EE design processes including schematic design, board layout, and circuit analysis
    • Working across various disciplines such as SiriusXM, CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, WiFi, audio sound control, RF, OTA, VIF, CPU & Micom, network, hardware, and testing


  • Proficiency with MS Office software applications
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
  • Passion for technology and problem solving


Travel/Physical Requirements:



  • Up to 40% travel, including out-of-state and international travel as required
  • Use of X-ray equipment and environmental chambers
  • Ability to:


    • Sit/Drive and/or test in a vehicle for up to 8 hours a day, up to 4 hours at a time
    • Ability to lift/carry up to 30lb samples, benches, box and tools
    • Interact with display/center controller/steering wheel while driving or while stationary testing



Preferred:



  • Prior experience or knowledge with:


    • Vehicle Infotainment & Telematics feature and Vehicle interface technology products
    • Complex systems
    • IATF 16949 certification
    • APQP&FMEA certification


  • Bilingual - Korean / English
