Job Summary
Auburn University Libraries Administrative Office is seeking a student to provide general office assistant support.

Essential Functions
The Student Office Assistant will support the library administration by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting the library administration office with routine tasks and special projects.
  • Operating a multi-line telephone system to route calls and take messages.
  • Accurately and efficiently entering data.
  • Organizing and filing paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail.
  • Receiving deliveries and locating supply request forms.
  • Running on-campus errands as needed.
  • Performing routine light housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized office environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled student at Auburn University.
Expectations:

  • Report for the shift on time.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of independent work.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Job requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Pay Rate $9.00/hour
Work Hours Between 9am-4pm Monday-Friday, 10-20 hours per week depending on operational needs
