THE JOB:

The Union Stagehand at Mass Mutual Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of events by managing and maintaining audio and visual equipment. Responsibilities include setting up, troubleshooting, and operating technical gear, collaborating with production teams, and ensuring that all equipment functions correctly during events to enhance the overall attendee experience.

THE STARTING RATE: $29.08 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Running cue tracks to include audio, electronics, fly, follow spot, lighting, carpentry, and props.
• Theatre maintenance, inspections, and repairs as assigned / approved per track.
• Set up and tear down special events as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with internal and external guests of MGMRI, our resident show partner and talent booked into the theater.
• Maintain the Artistic Vision set forth by Talent/Artist within MGMRI and Department Guidelines.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: audio, automation, carpentry, electrics, property & puppets, rigging and special effects
• Has high school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Has 3+ years of experience working a live show, technical theatre and/or a showroom in a college or resort setting or prior relevant experience
• Can work varied shifts, with emphasis on nights, weekends, and all major holidays
• Has work in a live theatre environment with fast-paced set changes, sound and lighting effects, which require constant focus and strenuous physical activity.
• Is OSHA 10 certification.
