Class A Driver

Kahut Waste Services, aWasteConnections company, seeks a safety-conscious and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our team.

Schedule is Monday - Friday

Start time is 5:30 AM and goes until the route is completed.

Starting wage is $32.25/HR

KeyResponsibilities:

• Operate a tractor-trailer using manual transmission equipment to haul waste to Wasco Landfill. Possibly 2 loads/day.
• Operate a tractor-trailer on a dedicated local route using manual transmission equipment to haul Recycle to Pioneer Recycling Services (7-11 times/day).
• Operate a tractor-trailer on a dedicated local route using manual transmission equipment to haul customer drop boxes from customer location to transfer station as needed.
• Opportunity to receive training on Roll-Off trucks
• Perform routine vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires
• Physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
• Maintain courteous and professional interactions with customers
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

• Climb in and out of the truck cab up to 40+ times per day
• Work in all outdoor weather conditions, including wet and humid environments, with exposure to fumes and vibrations
• Moderate noise level
• Adhere to safety protocols to mitigate physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of Class A driving experience is required, including mandatory experience with manual transmissions and 53' trailers.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Stable work history (at least 2 years in most recent position)
• Excellentcustomer serviceand communication skills
• Clean driving record and compliance with DOT regulations (49 CFR 383.51)
• Ability to handle the physical demands of the job
• Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections
• SAFETY SENSITIVE: YES
