Personnel Security Specialist - Mid Level

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Personnel Security Specialist for the TMAS 2 Contract, supporting the 47 Cyberspace Test Squadron.

JOB DETAILS

Our Personnel Security team is searching for new member that can help us conduct system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify vulnerabilities. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide a number of opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.

We realize that no one will have all of these qualifications. We are looking for people that can bring a strong foundation in one of the listed areas and are motivated to learn the others. Position responsibilities can span from compliance testing to penetration testing, depending on skillset.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Active Top Secret with ability to obtain TS/SCI and U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience with SCI personnel security procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes local procedures for processing requests for security clearances for military and civilian personnel.
• Initiates and reviews all requests for personnel security investigations consistent with directives.
• Ensures that requests for security clearances are properly screened and verified, and that all necessary forms and documentation have been completed before processing for clearances.
• Analyzes each request received to determine validity for access indicated.
• Evaluates the sensitivity of the position, degree of clearance, and special access required to perform duties to determine type of investigation required.
• Determines which investigative agency to forward the request.
• Maintains prescribed files and records pertinent to clearances.
• Establishes priority processing of requests for investigations and correspondence pertaining to clearance records.
• Reviews security clearance requests and similar related material for information that adversely reflects on the individual's loyalty or character, such as sabotage, espionage sedition, or subversive tendencies; criminal, infamous, notorious, or disgraceful conduct; drunkenness; drug a diction; or sex perversion.
• If results reveal a misrepresentation, initiates correspondence to appropriate authorities summarizing any falsified or derogatory information.
• Assists commanders in determining if Security Information File (SIF) should be established.
• Establishes, maintains, processes, and disposes of SIFs for all organizations supported.
• Must be flexible in working other security disciplines - security education and training, physical security, information security, industrial security, media control and OPSEC.
