Job Purpose

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer collaborates with industrialization leadership and design engineering teams to develop prototype build processes and then adapt and scale these processes for full production. This position plays a critical part in defining and optimizing manufacturing processes, leading cross-functional teams, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality products.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Prototype Development & Production Scaling: Collaborate with design engineering teams to develop prototype build processes and transition them to efficient, repeatable production-scale operations.
  • Process Development & Optimization: Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for engine and generator assembly operations.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert for assembly processes, providing technical guidance and support to production teams.
  • Additive Manufacturing: Integrate additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies into production processes, where applicable, to enhance design flexibility and reduce costs.
  • Project Management: Manage cross-functional projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
  • Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Support root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address production issues and improve product quality.
  • Tooling & Equipment: Design and specify tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production activities.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, needed, or required for the business.

Qualifications include:



  • Education, Experience and Certifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) required.
    • Advanced Technical or Business degree beneficial.
    • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with significant exposure to engine, genset and/or electric motor assembly operations.
    • Familiarity with business case drivers and value creation. Ability to objectively compare and rationalizing options for the path forward.
    • Aerospace or other precision manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.


  • Skills and Abilities

    • Expertise in manufacturing process design and improvement (lean, Kaizen, error-proofing, fixture design). Experience with DOE, gage R&R, and process qualifications
    • Ability to design tooling for mid/high-volume manufacturing
    • Demonstrated experience implementing automation into production processes
    • Experience with prototype development and transitioning processes to production-scale operations.
    • Experience with custom fabrication, engine and generator assembly, electric motor assembly processes.
    • Proficiency in design software (e.g NX, CAD, stackup and GD&T) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
    • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Familiarity with automotive or aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., QS9000, ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP).
    • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) beneficial.





Role Classification and Working Conditions

This is a salaried, exempt-level position. This position typically works in an office environment; and given the nature of our business is also exposed to operations/warehouses/production environments.

Physical/Other Requirements



  • Temporary extended on-site oversight for new process development preferred.
  • Ongoing travel to company engineering and production sites up to 30%
