Pharmacy Intern * Trade Relations

Acara Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Intern - Trade Relations to work directly with a Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions (PBD) rebate team assisting in areas such as rebate management, industry trends, pipeline evaluation, formulary management, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (P&T), prior authorization (PA), and pharmacy benefit administration as needed.

Hourly Rate: 18-21/HR

Schedule: Hybrid 8-10 hours a week

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Rebate team with the review of cost, efficacy, and safety of medications to guide formulary strategy and contract negotiations
• Participate in industry-facing meetings surrounding clinical and financial updates on pharmaceutical products
• Ability to assist Clinical Pharmacy team in the formulary management process, including plan design and utilization management Assist account management and client support team in researching and addressing day-to-day client inquiries
• Apply clinical knowledge to perform comprehensive assessments of member therapy regimens, analyze and interpret utilization data for benchmark and subpopulations
• Identify and utilize appropriate resources needed to access pertinent literature and information associated with projects assigned
• Retrieve, interpret, and report on drug information and industry topics
• Communication projects as needed
• Drug utilization evaluation as needed

• Must currently be enrolled in pharmacy school at an accredited college or university
• NYS Pharmacy Intern License required
• Proficient computer and Windows skills required, including MS Office
• Previous clinical experience in a managed care setting preferred
• Strong clinical background and display of commitment to lifelong learning

• Upcoming P3 student for the 2025/2026 school year preferred
• Interest in Pharmacoeconomic analysis and modeling preferred
