Sentara Health is looking for an Associate IT Technical Associate Specialist to join our Team

This is a Full Time day shift position located at Sentara Independence, Virginia Beach, VA

IT Technical Support Specialist is a customer-facing role. IT Technical Support Specialist, is responsible for assisting customers with technical issues or questions relating to computer hardware, applications, software devices, and monitoring systems. Their duties include taking phone calls from customers or communicating with them through messaging platforms, helping customers diagnose technical issues over the phone, and meeting and speaking with them about installing hardware or software on their computers.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degreein Computer Science, MIS, or related field, preferred
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience with a degree
  • 3 years of relevant experience without a degree
Certification/Licensure
  • Prefer one or more of the following: MCDST, A+, Network+, CompTIA Project+.
Experience
  • Experience in IT technical support or a related customer-facing technical role

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to computer hardware, software, applications, or monitoring systems

  • Familiarity with providing support remotely, in person, or over the phone

  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills in a technical environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based setting and exercise independent judgment when needed

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on issues

  • Customer-focused mindset with a results-oriented approach

  • Willingness to work on-call and respond to technical issues outside of normal business hours

  • Ability to stay current with evolving technologies and technical solutions

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$22.39 - $37.32. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
