WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

The Red Cross Cycle Services (DCS) team provides disaster preparedness, response, and recovery services to thousands of families annually. Disaster Action Teams (DATs) are the frontline volunteers responding to local disasters every 7 minutes. The Senior Program Manager, Regional Response collaborates with employees and volunteer leaders at national headquarters (NHQ), divisions, and regions to support this program. You will help regions and divisions to deliver exceptional service to families affected by disasters.

The Red Cross is a disaster response organization, and you may be required to support relief operations at headquarters or at a disaster incident location.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

Direct and coordinate Regional Response activities, focusing on Disaster Action Teams (DAT) and Level I and II disaster responses. Plan, execute, and evaluate projects and activities, including the Disaster Action Team Continuous Response Strategic Initiative. Ensure Regional Response and DAT align with DCS vision and priorities, including the 2023 Disaster Cycle Services Five Year Plan. Collaborate with regions, divisions, and NHQ branches to collect and analyze data, identify needs, and develop recommendations for program improvement. Report on project status and issues for management review. Administer Regional Response processes, update doctrine, and coordinate with regions and divisions. Analyze and improve operating practices. Adapt strategies based on data analysis to meet evolving needs, trends, and organizational goals. Share data to enhance programs and develop business analysis tools. Support divisions and regions, including the 15,000-person DAT workforce, by facilitating office hours, calls with DAT leaders, presenting at regional DAT Summits, and participating in monthly division calls. Perform other duties as assigned to support the American Red Cross mission.

PAY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is $79,488.00 - $114,816.00

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Management Experience: N/a
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, judgement, and discretion, and love working with dedicated volunteers and employees to get things done.
  • You help colleagues to be successful. You develop strong and collaborative working relationships with division, region, and national headquarters teams.
  • You work well independently and can handle and prioritize multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • You enjoy solving problems. You demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements.
  • You can evaluate quantitative and qualitative data to "connect the dots" between key metrics and opportunities for optimization.
  • You are organized and build effective project plans, budgets, and strategies.
  • You're a proactive and organized project planner, thinker, and innovative problem solver.
  • You write well and communicate clearly. You're good at explaining things to audiences with different levels of understanding.
  • You are data literate and have Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You're keen to learn new skills.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):

  • You have a track record of success in supporting volunteer-led Disaster Action Teams.
  • Experience in a Red Cross Humanitarian Services region
  • Familiarity with Red Cross Client Care Program
  • Demonstrated success in working with both internal and external partners
  • Proven ability to transition from Level I/II responses to larger Disaster Relief Operations
