The Administrative Assistant I position on the Business Management Team in the Finance & Administration Group will provide a wide range of entry-level administrative support for the Office of the Finance & Administration Group Manager, and the sections, units, and teams within the Group.

As an Administrative Assistant I on the Business Management Team you will work on a wide variety of administrative tasks. This position supports Finance and Administrative Services Management and the other teams/units/sections throughout the Group.

Your responsibilities will range from calendar management and scheduling; proofreading and formatting; creating and organizing basic spreadsheets; timekeeping; updating and maintaining records; ordering office supplies; assist with Mail Services and MWD's Rideshare Program in addition to other administrative work. You'll be trained to assist with contract administration support including creating and processing invoices.

In addition to your exceptional customer services skills, your ability to be successful in this role is dependent on your attention to detail, teamwork, willingness to learn, time management, organizational skills, administrative skills, and your ability to communicate and interact with others effectively.

This job announcement has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees in this classification / job.

Schedule: 44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.

Hybrid: Metropolitan's current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or high school certificate of equivalency and five years of relevant experience; or Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and one year of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Administrative Assistant I classification.

Relevant Experience is defined as: administrative work experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
