Robotic Welder Lead / Set-Up

Position Details:
- Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:00am - 2:30pm
- Pay Range: Up to $31.00/hour (Depends upon experience, skill set, and shift schedule)
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, Setup/operate both automatic MIG welding and robotic welding machines
- Identify potential issues with fixtures and compensate as needed
- Determine and build sequence from drawings
- Write and edit weld programs for new and existing parts
- Train new employees or when new work is introduced in the Department, in machine operations, material usage, quality specifications and production standards
- May check work visually or by using basic inspection instruments during the operation as required; may train inexperienced employee in quality and inspection procedures for the specific part being produced and review inspection results with Quality Control personnel as established
- Perform all job duties as indicated on lower-level welding job duties
- Troubleshoot processes and equipment with approved technical support
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and/or Training:
- Knowledge and experience of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in metal fabrication environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience and/or training in production robotic welding position.
- Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training of robotic weld programming.
- Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in lifting device use (forklift, crane, jibs, hoist, magnets, etc.)
- Must obtain necessary weld certifications.
- Must possess proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions)
- Must possess proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper)
- Must possess proficiency in geometry (angles, radius, circumference, etc.)
- Must possess mechanical aptitude.
- Must possess proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Must possess proficiency in interpreting weld symbols.
- Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications.
Preferred Qualifications Experience and/or Training:
- Knowledge and experience of GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
- Knowledge of Seam tracking systems
- Knowledge of Touch Sensing
- Exposure to Shoplogix data entry
- Prior experience in working in a leadership capability
- Prior experience in conducting on-the-job training for new hires
- Prior experience with ERP systems
Physical and Mental Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use foot/feet to operation machinery.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and move from place to place.
- The employee regularly be able to regularly talk, listen, climb or balance and reach above shoulders.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- The employee must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
