Bridge Inspection Team Leader (Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor)

As the team leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the inspection of structures to assess any damage caused by accidents, water scouring, wear or corrosion, disintegration of concrete, or the condition of bearing pads. You will also create sketches and take measurements for further analysis. Based on the inspection data, this position directs or prepares reports documenting any deficiencies found, recommends routine repairs and priorities, and provides training for subordinates on the proper use of inspection equipment. A key function of this position is to ensure that safety procedures are followed and protective equipment is utilized. Work involves promoting awareness of work area conditions and taking proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries. It is essential that you promptly report any personal injuries or accidents, provide first-aid when necessary, and ensure that prompt medical treatment is received to minimize the risk of further injury.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid non- commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
