WHAT WE OFFER As a Process Engineer, the main function of this role is to actively lead the Improve Plant (IP) process on site. This includes running necessary team meetings, tracking of projects and gatekeeping ideas. In addition, the incumbent must identify, propose, support and execute projects for HSE, debottlenecking, reduction in processing costs, yield improvements, process and quality optimization and expansion using improve plant process. Major Responsibilities:
- Proposes designs and executes plant trials directed at enhancing plant Performance.
- Investigates plant performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability leading to, proposal and implementation of sound technical Solutions.
- Creates, maintains, and develops standards for plant operating, documentation (e.g. standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and, retrieval).
- Prepares materials for and assists in conducting Operators training.
- Provide plant management and operations personnel daily in, evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability. Identifies trends or common process issues to develop proactive measures to reduce downtime and increase capacity.
- Participates in project technical reviews, design reviews, incident reviews, audits, and HAZOP/PHA studies. Provides technical expertise in process implications for these studies and/or audits.
- Serve on the Risk Assessment Team for the Wilmington site's Management of Change process (MOC).
- Works to HSE standards and encourages fellow colleagues to work to the same standards.
- Proactively communicates issues and process improvement ideas to all affected personnel to solicit feedback regarding proposed changes. Interacts with and assists team members and external resources as necessary (e.g., vendors, contractors, quality, safety, etc.)
- Leads continuous improvement activities: LEAN and Six Sigma
WHAT YOU OFFER Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with a minimum of 4 years' experience, OR
- Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree related degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chemical plant experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to apply rigorous logic.
- Experience in RCA, MOC, PHA, HAZOP a plus.
- SIX Sigma training and working knowledge of SAP.
- PCT and/or Functional Safety experience.
