The Senior Reporting Analyst within Government Programs Quality Analytics will collaborate within a team that continues to reimagine the foundational metrics and analytics surrounding Quality at UHG, making them more actionable, transparent, accurate, and flexible. As a subject matter expert, the analyst will build and scale rules-based models and reporting to drive changes in the healthcare industry.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Build, enhance, and automate data pipelines using SQL procedures, SAS
  • Build, enhance, and automate reporting in Tableau and Excel
  • Build and enhance rules-based models based off CMS specifications and custom requests
  • Convert informal and manual calculations/reports into structured SQL/Tableau
  • Propose database design changes and collaborate with onshore and offshore teams on code reviews and implementation
  • Track changes in Git
  • Develop procedures to load, transform, and report on structured and unstructured data
  • Be the subject matter expert of the rules-based models and the Star Rating predictive process
  • Maintain processes to ingest data published by CMS
  • Oversee inputs, calculations, output, and reporting for the CMS stars model
  • Maintain the CMS lookup tables that drive the stars rules engine: Measure, Contract, Enrollment, Plan Information
  • Liaison of inputs, methodology, outputs - UAT the entire process and apply short term fixes when the ideal solution will not be ready to meet reporting deadlines

Required Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, SAS or equivalent database experience
  • 2+ years of experience with using or creating reports, e.g. Tableau, excel or other BI tools
  • 2+ years of experience in Health care, Medicare, Medicare Star Ratings, CMS rules and regulations, or Medicaid
  • Proven ability to analyze data and communicate to the business in writing and verbally
  • Proven ability to problem solve and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with statisticians or data scientists
  • Hadoop (Hive/Spark), Sql Server, SAS EG
  • Experience with non-database programming (e.g. Python or VB)

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
