Summary:
Performs radiographic procedures by applying prescribed ionizing radiation to produce the highest quality images. Demonstrates independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Assists radiologist and other physicians with procedures to provide customers with the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to serve patients and their families by being courteous. Performs procedures in a prompt and courteous manner while providing high quality images for interpretation. Provides excellent communication skills with patient, patient families, physicians and other team members. Exhibits knowledge regarding the needs of neo-natal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients. Promotes a positive image of the Radiology department and the hospital.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Clinical rotation through a hospital setting during training.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
Must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and be in good standing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
CPR training. Good communication skills to interact with patients and other employees. Promotes a positive image of the hospital at all times. Demonstrates a "Team Player" attitude and have the ability to handle stressful situations properly.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Maybe exposed to bloodborne pathogens, which include HIV and Hepatitis B. Maybe at risk for exposure to TB and other potentially infectious diseases. Must use personal protective equipment when at risk for exposures to bloodborne pathogens. Exposure to ionizing radiation, requiring the use of radiation protective equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Walking and standing throughout shift. Push and pull stretchers and/or wheelchairs occupied with patients. Lifts patients daily with assistance. Lifts and carries films, cassettes, chemicals and supplies. May experience stressful workshifts.
