Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

Then the Maricopa County Travel Reduction Program (TRP) has just the position for you! As a Travel Reduction Compliance Coordinator, you will conduct plan reviews and site inspections and monitor the implementation of travel reduction plans for major employers located throughout Maricopa County. This position is grant-funded by two intergovernmental agreements with the Maricopa Association of Governments and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

We Require

  • One year of experience coordinating and administering public programs and services

  • A bachelor's degree in business, planning, communications, public administration, or related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Experience working with air quality and/or environmental programs and procedures

  • Three years of experience performing inspections, audits, and/or reviewing environmental and transportation plans

Job Contributions

  • Conducts employer audits and site visits/inspections. Evaluates inspection/plan data to determine compliance status of companies/sites for recommendation to the TRP Regional Task Force for approval/disapproval and participates in Task Force meetings as needed.

  • Maintains regular contact with employers' Transportation Coordinator and organization leadership to ensure program compliance. Provides educational resources and monitors employer plan progress.

  • Initiates and coordinates corrective actions needed to resolve compliance deficiencies and prepares and issues associated documents (i.e., requests for documentation and notices of violation).

  • Provides follow-up reports outlining deficiencies and defines corrective actions by set deadlines. Works with employers throughout Maricopa County to determine compliance and assists with the development and implementation of program goals and identified plan components.

  • Creates and distributes program outreach materials to educate the public and industry about air quality/environmental issues, regulations, safety, policies, and compliance.

  • Participates in outreach opportunities to employers such as employer fairs and other events.

  • Maintains employer records and associated program documentation in compliance with the department's records retention schedule.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of environmental studies, surveys, and program policies and procedures to achieve program goals and objectives.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office and field environment with exposure to loud noises, noxious odors, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations

  • Ability to exert 20-25 lbs occasionally, 10-25 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly

  • Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire

  • Hybrid schedule available after training period and based on business needs
