Group/Division

The KLA Global Workplace Services (GWS) team is passionate about enabling the business goals and company culture through the delivery of workplace environments and services that foster teamwork, innovation and productivity. Our team runs a worldwide portfolio of over 3 million square feet, 135 sites and over 12,000 employees. In addition to ensuring the workspace and manufacturing facilities operate seamlessly, this group also provides employee and site services, such as cafeteria, transportation, security, and safety. The team is responsible for all construction and site improvement work to enable the business needs as well as align with the financial requirements.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking a well-rounded, passionate Environmental, Health, and Safety professional who will excel in a new role as the EHS Lead for KLA's headquarters in Milpitas, CA. The campus is home to R&D, Engineering, manufacturing, and business support functions with over 3,000 employees and contract personnel. As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for leading and working alongside the team to coordinate the implementation of EHS programs and procedures and ensure alignment with corporate EHS goals and objectives. The person in this role will:

  • Provide support to campus leadership, department heads, and managers on business unit EHS performance goals and objectives.

  • Lead the campus EHS program, developing best practices and executing strategies that proactively identify opportunities to advance EHS program performance and improve employee safety and well-being.

  • Develop partnerships with business teams to gain an understanding of their operations requirements and provide clear guidance on KLA EHS requirements and regulatory obligations.

  • Oversee implementation of the corporate EHS Management System (EHSMS), sustainment, auditing, and reporting to relevant stakeholders (ISO 45001 and 14001).

  • Coordinate tracking, collection, analysis, and regular reporting of EHS performance measures and KPIs.

  • Support business teams in incident investigations, corrective actions, and effectiveness.

  • Develop and administer engineering laboratory and cleanroom EHS programs, risk assessments, inspections, and audits in support of corporate EHS goals and objectives.

  • Ensure regulatory obligations are met and stay informed of changes in regulations (governmental, industry groups, international standard bodies).

  • Partner with the GWS facilities team to maintain KLA EHS standards in facility management, equipment maintenance, and construction projects.

  • Lead implementation of campus emergency response management program, including ERT preparedness, training, testing of emergency action plans, and ERT response action debriefing.

  • Lead and develop a team, evaluate performance, coach, and provide leadership to support the department's success.

  • Facilitate facility stormwater, air, hazardous waste, and other environmental permits.

  • Serve as the campus liaison for agency reporting, inspections, audits, and follow-up actions.

  • Provide direct support and guidance to campus Safety, Laser Safety, and Radiation Safety Committees and related EHS programs.

  • Proactively communicate with clarity and care so KLA employees understand various EHS policies and know how to get the support they may need.

  • Manage local resources, such as external EHS consultants and suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in Environmental Health and Safety, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech industries.

  • Direct experience leading a team of EHS professionals.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering or equivalent. CSP or CIH certification a plus.

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work to commitments.

  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace to achieve EHS objectives.

  • Analytical approach with the ability to assess and address risks proactively and effectively, with a sense of urgency.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and make decisions quickly and effectively.

  • EHS Management System experience (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is required.

  • Ability to travel (10%).

The range displayed reflects the pay for this position in the primary location identified in this posting.
