In this dynamic role, you will work collaboratively while taking the lead in analyzing crash data and traffic patterns to identify innovative Traffic Engineering solutions that enhance roadway safety in your community. You will collaborate with team members on critical traffic studies-including speed and volume analysis, level of service (LOS), delay, and queuing calculations-while preparing data-driven recommendations for traffic control measures like signage and pavement markings. Beyond analysis, you will play a key role in securing Federal funding for safety and mobility projects. Engaging with stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance on traffic safety, shaping the future of transportation in Maricopa County. We Require
Two years of professional analytical experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Job Contributions
Analyze crash statistics to identify trends, patterns, and contributing factors to identify Traffic Engineering countermeasures to enhance safety and reduce crashes. Compile traffic engineering data collected by other Division team members, including traffic volumes and speeds, and conduct analysis, including traffic control warrant analysis, using Excel, Synchro, HCS, and other Traffic Engineering capacity analysis software and tools Prepare comprehensive reports stating the findings and recommendations for new or modified traffic control measures, such as signage, pavement markings, and other roadway safety enhancements. Effectively communicate to stakeholders Conduct level of service (LOS), delay, and queuing calculations to assess roadway performance and identify potential congestion or safety concerns. The findings support roadway design, traffic signal optimization, and traffic engineering project planning, with the goal of enhancing traffic flow and overall safety Support the TSMO Division Leadership team in developing Federal funding applications for Traffic Engineering projects aimed at improving safety and mobility. Responsibilities include project scoping, cost estimation, ensuring project alignment with TSMO Division objectives, and managing the timely submission of applications. Additionally, facilitate coordination between various TSMO Division working groups to streamline the application process and enhance project success Engage with internal teams, external stakeholders, and the general public, providing clear and informed technical expertise on traffic safety matters Other job duties as assigned
