Senior Level Network Architect to work within their cyber, OTSGP and arch group. They are creating a secure data communications link between the aggregator companies and their own Realtime grid network. They must have DER project experience setting up and designing a Network, firewall and cyber security technologies. Cisco, Palo and Data communications arch experience. Info for DER project....seeking a technical architect/SME to support a DER Network project. Duration: 2 years and would like to on-board someone within the month ASAP First deliverable is June 2026 (end of June) Location? Remote but may need to travel quarterly for meetings Responsibilities: Technical Architect/SME DER experience that has built a DER network at another Utility or driving designs and collaborating with. Understanding of SASE, Palo Alto, Firewalls Ability to take requirements and develop into a design. This is a new initiative, as their current Utility Enterprise Network (EUN) does not allow direct internet access. The DER aggregators will combine various distributed energy sources (solar, wind, electric vehicle charging, etc.) and provide data on the status and generation of these resources. Looking for an experienced network architect who understands energy delivery architecture and security protocols to help design and implement this new network environment. The project is in the early planning stages, and internal teams have been working on the requirements, but they need someone to coordinate and validate the approach. The design phase is estimated to be an 18-month project, with the architect needed for the first 9 months. Open to considering candidates with experience in smart grid or utility network architecture, even if they don't have direct DER experience, as long as they understand network operations and security. The budget for the architect role is still to be determined, and TEKsystems will provide a proposal based on their market research. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
