AESC is looking to add a Talent Acquisition Partner to our team in Florence, SC.

AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational and supplying electric vehicle batteries for the Nissan LEAF since 2012, was retooled in 2025 and now produces batteries for Energy Storage Systems. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply next generation cells for BMW starting in 2026. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply high-performance batteries and components for other OEMs. AESC is committed to our local communities where it is making investments, creating jobs, and supporting local charities.

About the Role

The Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting in Florence, SC to ensure the company is hiring the best possible talent across the site. This is achieved through developing and maintaining recruiting strategies and processes that support the current and future needs of the site. Managing high volumes of hiring will be key to success in this role.

What You Will Do
  • Lead Talent Acquisition Initiatives
    1. Using market intelligence, consult and influence senior leadership, hiring managers, and other key stakeholders to develop strategic hiring plans, sourcing, and selection strategies.
    2. Seek creative solutions for sourcing candidates and leverage recruiting resources such as professional organizations, social media, and community associations to attract, engage and recruit candidates.
  • Drive Process Optimization
    1. Prescreen candidates and recommend top talent for the hiring team.
    2. Schedule interviews for the hiring team as necessary due tvolume spikes.
    3. Maintain applicant tracking system and internal systems with up-to-date information, jobs, job specifications, job descriptions, marketing collateral, etc.
    4. Partner with marketing/communications team tupdate and maintain talent branding on Glassdoor, Indeed and all related recruiting systems.
    5. Responsible for promoting and maintaining fair employment practices. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employments laws and regulations, and compliance policies.
  • External Partnerships
    1. Collaborate with external partners such as SC Works, Ready SC, etc. for hourly/non-exempt talent hiring and identify efficiencies for recruiting processes.
    2. Attend local hiring events to attract top talent for AESC.
    3. Partnerships with local schools, Universities etc. for early career hiring, apprentiships, tradespeople, internships, Co-ops, etc.
  • Interface with Stakeholders
    1. Collaborate with hiring managers and human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
    2. Oversee onboarding processes to ensure accuracy and an exceptional experience for candidates and new hires.
  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends
    1. Maintain a solid understanding of industry trends and provide insight into the competitive landscape.
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What You Need
  • Proven Experience & Educational Background
    1. Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated success in Talent Acquisition, showcasing a track record of achieving key objectives and driving impactful results.
    2. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, providing the foundational knowledge required to excel in this role.
    3. Automotive, manufacturing or high-volume recruiting experience is required.
  • Technical Proficiency
    1. Proficient in Applicant Tracking Systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other sourcing tools, ensuring the ability to navigate and contribute effectively to our dynamic work environment.
    2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    1. Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of key initiatives, demonstrating an innovative mindset and problem-solving skills.
    2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to be pro-active and take initiative.
    3. Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn.
    4. Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
  • Adaptability
    1. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs and priorities.
    2. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)

What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Advanced Certifications
    1. Possession of advanced certifications SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential, while not mandatory, would be a strong asset, showcasing a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Cross-Cultural Experience
    1. Previous experience working in cross-cultural environments, or a demonstrated understanding of cultural nuances would be beneficial, given our global presence and diverse team.
  • Industry Involvement
    1. Active involvement in Talent Acquisition associations, conferences, or relevant forums, demonstrating a keen interest in staying at the forefront of industry trends and networking with peers.
    2. Lithium-Ion batter industry experience is a plus.
  • Start-up Experience: Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
Travel

Domestic travel to provide support for career fairs, local outreach and some internal meetings
