OVERVIEW

Our manufacturing company needs a full time Packaging Operator II to work on the packaging line to handle all finished goods. This position requires one to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and all quality and safety policies. Packaging Operators must be able to utilize the packaging equipment efficiently, box the finished product and palletize the cases at the end of the packaging line. One must also be able to create Pallet ID's and utilize the correct lot coding system.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:



  • Perform hourly metal detector verification test to ensure metal detector is working properly

    • Complete metal detector calibration log (300-F-017)


  • Have the ability to operate the Lantech Case Erector and Case Sealer, BMG Bagger, MOTUS Cart Unloader and Mettler Toledo Metal Detector
  • Check each product prior to packing for any visible non-conforming product

    • Notify Shift Lead immediately if any product does not meet Tellus quality standards


  • Have the ability to understand and validate product lot codes
  • Have the ability to utilize pallet tagging system to accurately label all finished pallets
  • Must be able to efficiently box product
  • Must be able to efficiently palletize
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area, abiding by GMP and SQF policies
  • Know SAP material numbers to correctly identify product
  • Record all completed pallets for the shift



QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS



  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be flexible, reliable and well organized
  • Work and disciplinary record will be considered
  • Good verbal, reading and writing skills
  • Physically able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching and pulling.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 25 to 60 pounds.
