American Modern is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to drive finance transformation, improve financial systems, and streamline processes. Additionally, the Financial System Analyst will support the implementation of business requirements into local and global IT systems, working closely with IT and Business departments at American Modern and partner organizations in the Munich Group. The individual will help run and improve key processes in Accounting with people involved from other departments and other units of our global organization. With a strong insurance background, the individual will set up best practice solutions for external and internal financial reporting and improve financial data analysis within the Accounting Organization. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain best practice processes and architectural solutions for to achieve an efficient financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial systems for Accounting, write change requests, if necessary, serve as contact person for IT.
- Steer and support the efficient integration of business initiatives into the Accounting processes.
- Guide Accountants in the best practice execution of the Accounting processes, develop and hold user trainings for systems in use or new systems built, develop user guides if appropriate.
- Participate in and manage project activities relating to key Accounting projects.
- Organize workshops to gather and collect business requirements or to design to-be solutions.
- Help managing key closing processes in Accounting from technical perspective to assure accurate and in-time delivery of financial results.
- Maintain and further develop the accounting process documentation together with the responsible people in Accounting.
- Represent the Accounting Department's perspective on key corporate projects; promote appropriate data governance principles in Accounting projects.
- Develop efficient reporting solutions to support analytical work in Accounting and help to set up reporting standards for the Accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
- At least two or more years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting, preferably within the Insurance industry
- Knowledge of supporting Finance systems; Relevant technology certifications
- Technology platform delivery experience. Expertise and/or demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools and simple program languages such as SQL or Python. Proven ability to simplify technology concepts to business stakeholders and help them adopt new technologies/processes.
- Project Management skills and experience.
- PowerBI/TM1/ Alteryx experience
