POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of the Associate Procurement Category Manager involves supporting the development and implementation of Category Strategies for assigned categories. This is done by aligning with business objectives and utilizing the 7-step strategic sourcing process. The responsibilities include assisting in the creation of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for indirect materials and services, identifying cost-saving opportunities, fostering strategic relationships with suppliers, facilitating innovation initiatives, supporting contract decisions, assisting in negotiations, and reducing Nestle's total cost of ownership. Additionally, the Associate Procurement Category Manager plays a vital role in understanding the financial impact of the category.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in developing and execute a Category Strategy for each assigned category, aligning with business objectives and utilizing the 7 steps to strategic sourcing process
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and innovation
  • Support Identifying and carrying out cost savings initiatives to bring value to the business
  • Ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are in place for services within the assigned categories
  • Identify and present innovation opportunities from suppliers to Procurement Business Partners and Supply Chain Operations
  • Assist in conducting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and negotiations with suppliers to achieve the most favorable price, incoterm and payment terms to reduce Nestle Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), make contracting decisions accordingly
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to the assigned categories to reduce and communicate risk and understand price changes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, and Quality Assurance, to ensure compliance and alignment with company policies and standards
  • Develop understanding of and lead sustainability initiatives and impacts of suppliers to help Nestle achieve the goal on Greenhouse Gas reductions (GHG)
  • Support development and implementation of internal process improvements, ensuring efficient organization and support of cross-category initiatives to enhance collaboration and operational effectiveness within the procurement team

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Organizational Development or a related field

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain fields
  • Experience in SAP, Power BI and other advanced data analytics tools preferred
  • Experience in Microsoft; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

SKILLS:

  • Basic negotiation skills preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability to think Strategically and develop long term plans to optimize a category
  • Problem solving skills to effectively address complex issues that arise in a category, with suppliers and Nestle factories
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be able to present in front of peers, stakeholders, and leaders
