Senior Principal CAD Specialist - PWB Librarian

$80.00 per hour
  • Experience with electronic components and industry standards for schematic symbol and footprint creation, as well as MS Access and Wind-chill database.
  • Experience with Cam350, Polar, Z-planner, PADS, Gerbtool, Valor, MS Access, Excel, Solid Works, AutoCAD, and Adobe.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and development of ruggedized electronics equipment for the United States Navy and directly contribute to the technical and production success of our programs through hands-on technical contributions and leadership opportunities.
  • Will be responsible for working with Component Engineering, Database Configuration Management, Electrical Engineering and PWB Layout to complete new part requests (NPR), as well as update/obsolete existing parts (PCN).
  • Primary responsibilities include component database data entry, schematic symbol creation, footprint design, padstack design, 3D model mapping to footprints, DXF import/export, and part libraries maintenance.
  • Other responsibilities to support part design verification include schematic capture, net listing and ECO reports, PCB part placement, reports generation, and error resolution.
  • Candidate shall design to IPC standards; follow internal design procedures and process requirements.
  • Duties also include handling expedited part creation requests, reporting of parts status, and providing design data and files as needed to meet schedule.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with electronic components and industry standards for schematic symbol and footprint creation, as well as MS Access and Wind-chill database.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Cam350, Polar, Z-planner, PADS, Gerbtool, Valor, MS Access, Excel, Solid Works, AutoCAD, and Adobe.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Skills:

  • Highly detailed oriented with good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform schematic capture, PWB design, and knowledge of circuit card assembly processes and standards.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and collaborative skills
  • Able to provide schedule inputs and to delegate task assignments
  • Able to accept and integrate and provide constructive feedback
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
