Description
Medical Assistant III is to provide administrative and patient care clinical support to the PEPC & Pain clinic under the supervision of Unit Director and Registered Nurse. Assist in coordinating patient flow through the clinic, from registration to discharge. Work as a member of the PEPC & Pain clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation including answering patient and physician phone calls and processing information required to ensure patient visit and follow ups are scheduled appropriately. Participate in the total patientcare in the ambulatory setting, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms and life threatening emergencies. Act as a staff person in the office, assisting in patient care, and maintaining high standards of care in the office. Qualifications
OR 2. Documentation of national certification for medical assistant issued by CMA, NCCT or AMT OR 3. Documentation of completing a medical assistant program and demonstrated completion of no less than 10 clock hours of training in administering injections and performing skin tests; 10 hours of training in venipuncture and skin puncture for the purpose of withdrawing blood; at least 10 of each intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections and 10 skin tests, and/or at least 10 venipuncture and 10 skin punctures; 10 hours of training in administering medical by inhalation.
