Software Engineer

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

We are currently seeking a Mid to Senior Level Software Engineer to support our Huntsville location.

At PeopleTec we will provide access to challenging problems and the freedom to solve them. Our team is seeking an exceptionally motivated, self-starting Mid to Senior Level Software Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructure and software that facilitate decentralized data management and governance across DoD organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, a deep understanding of data architecture principles, and a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making in a scalable and efficient manner.

Duties:

Work closely with the development team, data owners, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the system architecture meets business needs and complies with regulatory and/or organizational requirements
• Assist in the design and development of a robust data mesh infrastructure that supports distributed data ownership and provides a unified view of data across the organization
• Develop APIs to ensure that data can be accessed securely and efficiently by internal and external stakeholders while maintaining data autonomy across domains
• Create detailed documentation and provide training to domain teams and end users on how to effectively use the data mesh infrastructure
• Actively engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously refine the data mesh strategy to better support organizational goals
• Investigate and identify bugs as well as implement appropriate fixes

Required Skills/Experience:

• Strong teamwork and organizational skills with an ability to effectively communicate, adapt, multitask, and navigate a complex and rapidly changing environment
• Travel: 10 %
• Willing to work in Huntsville, AL location
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of Agile project management using Scrum
• Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud technologies
• Experience with Git, containerized development and deployment (Docker and Kubernetes), and DevSecOps processes
• Proficiency with multiple programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Go, C#, etc.
• Knowledge of big data tooling, such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision
• Current DoD IAT Level 2 certification
