Overview

As the GIS Project Integration Team Lead Senior System Analyst, you will take charge of delivering seamless system integration solutions for the NRG (O&R Mapping application) to GIS migration project. Our team is a dynamic IT GIS solutions provider committed to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions. We are currently seeking a talented GIS Project Team Lead with expertise in system integration to spearhead our NRG to GIS migration project. We are looking for an individual with proven track record in enterprise system integration, SAT/SIT planning and defect resolution and become a key player in driving the success of this critical initiative. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in working on enterprise systems, a deep understanding of integration technologies, and the ability to lead the team through successful testing phases.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead the project team through the testing phases, ensuring the successful integration of all components into the new system. Oversees design, development and testing of system integrations. Supports SIT planning and execution activities. Supports defect resolution and prioritization.
  • Enterprise System Expertise: Leverage your experience in working on enterprise systems to design and implement effective integration solutions.
  • Technology Recommendations: Provide recommendations on integrating technologies suitable for the project, considering scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Integration Strategy: Develop and implement a robust integration strategy for the migration project, considering enterprise-wide preferences for integration solutions.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to ensure that the GIS application meets the integration requirements of the NRG engineering and business unit and resolve any issues that may arise during the integration testing process.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that project progress is transparent, and potential challenges are proactively addressed.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality assurance measures to verify the effectiveness of integration solutions.
  • Workshop Participation: Actively participate and engage in workshops, contributing insights and expertise to shape integration strategies and decisions.
  • Document Review: Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation, offering insightful comments to enhance the quality of requirements, functional specifications, component specifications and provide approval.
  • Decisive Sign-Off: Demonstrate decisiveness in signing off on integration-related requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. and with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience and a strong understanding of GIS applications and technologies.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, required.
  • Ability to advocate for and understand the needs of O&R Business Units, required.
  • Exceptional document review skills, providing insightful comments to enhance project documentation, required.
  • Decisiveness in signing off on requirements, functional specifications, and component specs related to integration, required.
  • Proven experience as a GIS Project Team Lead with a focus on system integration, preferred.
  • Strong background in working on enterprise systems and delivering successful integration solutions, preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of integration technologies and best practices, preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-wide solution preferences for integration, preferred.
  • Proven experience in GIS integrations, specifically in electric and gas utility operations, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GIS applications and technologies, preferred.
