Specialist, Child/Adolescent Psych Op

Job Overview:

The Specialist participates in creating a therapeutic milieu which supports the program goals of providing a nurturing and supportive environment to assist participants in learning to deal effectively with emotions and behaviors.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• New Jersey valid driver's license in good standing

Preferred:

• B.A. or B.S. in Psychology or Social Work
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Clinical experience with children/adolescent population

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, Monday 10-6pm, Tuesday 10-7pm, Wednesday 10-6pm, Thursday 10-7pm, Friday 10-4pm
• Full-time

Essential Functions:

• Receives all referrals both internal and external and completes phone/ walk in screenings
• Schedules intake appointments
• Records pertinent data according to standards. Maintaining spreadsheets of all appointments offered and scheduled
• Followup calls of missed intake appointments and rescheduling patients
• Coordinates the registration process and ensures that all consents/authorizations are obtained prior to treatment
• Manages care verification of benefits and authorization
• Follows up with any billing related issues regarding insurance and authorization
• Provides telephone coverage for other clerical areas and staff as assigned and will cover front desk when needed
• Liaisons to community agencies -school, pediatrician, other social service agencies
