$15 - $25 Per Hour

Position Summary: We are seeking a STEM/Robotics Specialist to deliver an engaging experience to of technology to our young people. The ideal candidate will be able to expose students to existing and innovative technologies and programming through structured curriculum and project base learnings. The STEM/ Robotics Specialist must be able to stimulate and maintain student curiosity while serving as a positive role model.

Responsibilities:



  • Serve as lead instructor for STEM focused programs targeting school-aged children and adolescents by including:
  • Curriculum resources that effectively to develop STEM programming that supports the success of all members.
  • STEM into learning experiences and projects
  • Assessing youth skills in STEM activities and plan lesson that encourage exposure to STEM
  • Tracking attendance and lab-usage
  • Working with the Education Specialist to ensure activities align to NYS Education Standards and support the goals of the school(s) participants attend.
  • Scheduling and monitoring all user-activities in the computer lab
  • Adhering to organizational policies and procedures for lab operations
  • Troubleshooting software and hardware problems during lab hours
  • Maintaining a clean and safe physical environment
  • Manage the computer lab, including:


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Management Information System or related field
  • Experience in designing and implementing creative learning programs
  • Experience in integrating existing educational programs with technology-based software and tools


Key Competenices



  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working directly with youth a must
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced, highly energetic environment
  • Desire to teach children and teens the use of computers as a learning tool
  • Must be knowledgeable and skilled in engineering and robotics
  • Specific knowledge of Lego Robotics is strongly preferred.
