Upward Bound Project EDGE: The Upward Bound Project EDGE (Exploration and Determination Guarantees Excellence) program is designed to provide opportunities for fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The goal is to increase the rate at which participants complete high school education and graduate from institutions of post-secondary (college, technical) education. Our goal is to recruit participants into the Upward Bound program, retain them, graduate them, and get them ready for post-secondary education admittance and graduation. The Opportunity: UCF TRiO Program's Project EDGE seeks applications for an Academic Support Coordinator II. The Academic Support Coordinator II reports to the Manager of the Upward Bound Project EDGE Program and will work with low-income, first-generation high school students in grades 9-12 at Edgewater High School. The position will be responsible for providing academic advising services to participants to encourage and facilitate high school completion, postsecondary enrollment options such as college, vocational, and career academy. The coordinator is a 100% twelve-month position. The coordinator reports to the Manager of the Upward Bound Program (EDGE) and is responsible for providing direct student services and support. This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted. This is a visiting and renewable position. Visiting positions are based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length of time for which the position is available. Finalist will undergo a Level 1 and 2 background check per UCF requirements for working with minor youth. The position is provisional and is grant-funded through August 31, 2027, by the U.S. Department of Education/TRIO.
