Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to develop and deploy AI systems that mimic human intelligence. It involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to build and deploy machine learning models for various applications, while also collaborating with other teams to implement solutions and communicate findings effectively.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the effort on development and implementation of machine learning models, including training models to iteratively improve accuracy.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and collaborate with various stakeholders, such as underwriters, data scientists, actuaries, software engineers and data engineers to develop AI strategies and solutions.
  • Utilize AI models on data collection and preparation for analysis and model building while ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Analyze large datasets and utilize data visualization techniques to communicate findings and make recommendations.
  • Drive innovation in AI applications through research and implementation of advanced AI techniques.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of professional or project experience in advanced education (i.e. Master's or Doctoral program) specialized in machine learning algorithm, statistical modeling and data mining techniques required.
  • Insurance industry knowledge preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau or PowerBI preferred.
  • Prior experience managing employees preferred.
  • Proficient in programming languages, including Python or R required.


Skills:

  • Strong understanding of various machine learning algorithms and techniques.
  • Strong ability to create clear and informative data visualizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.


The salary range for this role is $128,100 - $249,900. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
