The Account Manager develops and maintains strong customer relationships, understanding their evolving needs, and driving sales growth within their assigned market segment(s). They leverage internal technical resources to develop and present quotes that achieve margin targets. They will conduct business development activities to expand revenue and margin within assigned markets and customers and acquires new customers.



Responsibilities

    Develops and implements sales strategies to achieve assigned revenue and profit targets.
  1. Identifies and pursues new sales opportunities within existing accounts, as well as prospective customers.
  2. Prepares and presents proposals to current and prospective customers, negotiates pricing, and closes deals to meet or exceed sales goals.
  3. Visits customers and conducts manufacturing facility tours as needed.
  4. Escalates internal obstacles to management to ensure customer expectations are met.
  5. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and relevant account information in the company's Customer Relationship Management system.
  6. Provides regular reports on account performance, sales pipeline, and market trends to management.
  7. Analyzes sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and develops strategies to drive growth.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned, which may include leading projects of varying scale or scope.


Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels.
  • Proficient in Customer Relationship Management software and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineered components.
  • Ability to travel 10%, sometimes on short notice.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Three years of related professional selling experience.
