Job Summary: Develops customized Installation Plans for specific projects from review of customer's requirements. Monitors plans and schedules for proper execution. Works with in-house personnel and subcontractors for the proper execution of installation of projects. Supplies technical back up to the field service technicians, tackling problem devices and systems whilst maintaining the highest level of knowledge on company's equipment. Identifies training needs and deliver both classroom and field training when required. Leads, plans and implements installation schedules within the timescale and to acceptable standards of quality. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews customer drawings and specifications for equipment installation.

  • Performs site surveys to provide installation solutions and options for specific equipment.

  • Supports the development of installation drawings.

  • Provides plans, schedules, estimates, and statements of work.

  • Reviews and responds to customer requests for proposals pertaining to installation of equipment.

  • Orders and tracks parts and materials for installation.

  • Develops equipment installation procedures, installation tests, and checklists.

  • Provides monitoring and tracking of installation with schedules and lines of balance.

  • Coordinates with customer, Cubic management and engineering, subcontractor, and field representatives concerning installation issues.

  • Investigate, diagnose, and repair any faults on any equipment as contracted to the company.

  • Provides efficient and effective field coaching and training; maintaining records of the training and supplying feed back to the supervisor. Investigate and prepare reports and recommendations on potential or actual equipment or installation-related problems.

  • Ensures compliance to legal, regulatory, and company policies.

  • Capable of utilizing a variety of electronic measuring devices, test equipment, functional block diagrams down to sub-system level, schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals, to determine malfunction root cause and provide troubleshooting assistance to installation personnel.

  • Plans work and coordinate activities for continued installation of equipment.

  • Must be able to lead team of Field Service Technicians/crews.

    • Holds team accountable to project schedule execution

    • Ability to deliver key messages & communicate effectively

  • Must be able to work various shift models including weekends and overnight

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must be able to travel to the designated job site(s).

  • Performs tasks normally carried out by field technicians when required.

  • Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Three years of electro-mechanical experience.

  • Two-year college degree in electronics, computer science, information systems, or related discipline preferred.

  • Experience working with transit system fare collection equipment is a plus.

  • Experience in computer software (Microsoft Office Suite) for the development of documents, spreadsheets, drawings, and schedules.

  • Ability to comply with Company standard practice as it applies to the field.

  • Detail-oriented, ability to communicate effectively and perform routine installation and maintenance campaigns.

  • Ability to adapt to remote field sites.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods, and to climb stairs.

  • Ability to work in hectic and noisy environments.

Cubic Pay Range:

$28.00 - $39.00 + benefits.
