$20 - $25 an hour, based on experience
Schedule: M - F
Hours: 8 hour shift

To apply for this position, you must have a minimum of 1 year of mechanic experience.

Based in San Antonio but will be required to travel to other branch offices (Austin, College Station, Corpus Christi & Bell County).

Local applicants or those willing to move to San Antonio, TX.

How You'll Make an Impact:

As ABC's Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our equipment runs smoothly, allowing our Lawn & Tree Technicians to provide top-notch service to our customers. Professional behavior is expected at all times while at work when dealing with Specialists requests or vendors. Listens to associate's concerns in regards all ABC equipment and vehicles; provides and suggest proper solutions to address their concerns.

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • 1 - 2 years experience required
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with an issue date of at least five years prior to the date of this application.
  • Basic knowledge of small equipment repair, maintenance, and repair
  • Ability to work with and distinguish various types of tools used for equipment repair
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and customers
  • Dependable and self-motivated with a desire to work year-round
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in extreme temperatures, including outdoors
  • Ability to crawl under equipment and work for long periods of time on the knees
  • Ability to lift, twist, pull, push, and carry up to 100 lbs. may be required.
  • Ability to carry a 40 lb. backpack throughout the day
  • Proficiency with power tools, drills, saws, etc.
  • Travel required to other branches (San Antonio, College Station, Corpus Christi & Bell County).

What You'll Do:

  • Keep the yard clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Load dumpsters efficiently and ensure proper waste disposal by working with our waste disposal vendors.
  • Organize and maintain landscape materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist with unloading and storing incoming supplies.
  • Maintain clear pathways and work areas for easy access.
  • Uses test equipment such as pressure testing and other tools to identify equipment problems.
  • Must have the ability to read equipment manuals, understand and follow instructions for disassembling and reassembling equipment. Repairs malfunctioning equipment efficiently in a timely fashion.
  • Makes adjustments to equipment, calibrates, cleans and lubricates equipment. Picks up parts and machines from various vendors.
  • Follows routine maintenance schedules of all equipment according to specifications for optimal performance.
  • Keeps records for inspections and parts used.
  • Obtains approval for major repairs and proposes replacement whenever necessary.
  • Uses personal protective equipment at all times as is required by safety standards and for prevention purposes.
  • Meets deadlines of work assigned and informs Service Manager of all delayed work.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all company and department policies and protocols, including the PTO policy.
  • Attend required department meetings and company or vendor training as required.
  • Your readiness to work on Saturday is obligatory when work is not completed during normal work days.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in training provided by the company or the manufacturers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
