I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

Job Description Summary:
The Department of Health Policy and Management in the Milken Institute School of Public Health seeks a full-time Research Associate to support Hospital and Health System Readiness for Equity-QI Integration, a 12-month study of 75 California hospitals and health systems around operational issues in the collection, use and integration of REAL data into efforts to close gaps in quality metrics. Funded by the California Health Care Foundation, the study involves the design, development, fielding and analyses of quantitative (and potentially qualitative) data, including development of a project report and creation of highly usable graphic depictions of survey findings and key takeaways.

This position will support qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis efforts related to the study, and will play a key role in facilitating the development of high-quality project deliverables on deadline. In addition to assisting with drafting reports, crafting presentations for internal and external stakeholders, and preparing data tables and other visuals to convey study findings, this position also entails frequent interaction with external stakeholders, and highly detailed planning and execution of project logistics and research protocols. The Research Associate will also provide general support including but not limited to conducting literature reviews, preparing meeting notes and agendas, and actively participating in team meetings. The Research Associate will use survey research, including data analysis and present findings.

The Research Associate will be closely involved in the development of and writing research deliverables, including a new hospital survey instrument, working collaboratively with other team members. The candidate will be responsible for identifying potential survey participants, uploading and managing the survey platform process and implementation, and performing data analysis on survey results, under the supervision of the PI and co-PI.
The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Qualified candidates will hold a master's degree and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
