Summary:

The Senior Manager, Commercial Analytics is responsible for monitoring business developments and market trends, and maintaining on-going analytical tools, reports, and systems. Primary responsibilities encompass the creation, refinements, and updates to business report presentations, dashboards, and routine analyses including various ad-hoc analysis request to support management decision making. In addition, this role is responsible for commercial data management, including routine maintenance and on-going enhancements to support development of Pacira's commercial data infrastructure and data management processes. This role reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Data & Advanced Analytics and collaborates cross functionally with colleagues across Sales Operations, Market Access, Marketing, Field Sales, and IT.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

* With manager guidance, deliver insightful commercial analytics projects to inform business decision making
* Design and execute data analysis to help answer key business questions by analyzing data from industry (e.g., anonymized, longitudinal patient claims data, remittance claims, payer policy and lives data etc.) and internal (e.g., field, and digital customer interactions, sales data) sources
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Insights & Analytics, Marketing, Managed Care, Field, Commercial Operations, and IT to deliver on advanced analytics projects
* Support maintenance of commercial data warehouse through ongoing QC monitoring of key data sources and systems in conjunction with IT and other cross functional partners
* Help design and build analytical tools to support and optimize market access, digital marketing, and field sales promotional activities
* Oversee development and operations of dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses to support commercial decision-making
* Pro-actively streamline and document processes supporting the generation of all reporting analytics
* Effectively present analysis results including meaningful conclusions and recommended next steps to supervisor and identified stakeholders
* Prepare summarized insights from data analytics to enable rapid communication with management and identified stakeholders
* Keep abreast of key market events, competitor activities, and work to understand potential impact

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree required; Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, Healthcare or Healthcare Informatics concentration preferred; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or pharma / healthcare consulting with a focus in one or more areas of advanced analytics, data science, or business analytics
* Prior experience working in management consulting preferred
* Prior experience in orthopedic markets, anesthesia, or closely related specialty preferred.

* Strong Analytical skills. Ability to work with complex data sets, formulate an analysis plan to derive insights, and solve critical questions
* Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud data infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Azure or similar)
* Statistical programming experience with Python, R, or similar
* Experience working with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau
* Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
* Strong collaboration and teamwork skills to partner with peers on interdepartmental initiatives
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, navigate shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to translate insights gleaned from advanced analytics projects into clear messages and recommendations for non-technical audiences
* Strong critical thinking and structured, problem-solving skills
* Excellent oral and written English communications skills.
* Solid financial and business acumen; analytical mindset; demonstrated strong analytical skills.
* Experience working knowledge of commercial data sources and tools relevant to pharmaceutical industry (e.g., Veeva, IQVIA, SHA, MMIT), preferred
* Healthcare industry knowledge and experience, preferred
* Ability to travel up to 20%

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this role in San Francisco, California is $132,000 annually to $180,000 annually.
The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
