Job Summary: The Director is a hands-on leader who drives the development of agriculture market development approaches and programs throughout the organization. As part of the Agri-Food Systems Transformation Practice, S/he will report to the Senior Director of the Practice and work with the Practice team to advance our corporate strategy. S/he will manage a small team; advise the leaders of TechnoServe's ~20 agriculture programs around the world; work closely with our global program development team to design impactful programs and produce winning proposals; and produce knowledge content for internal and external audiences that enables project teams to apply best practices and advances TechnoServe's thought leadership in our sector. Program Overview: The purpose of the Agri-Food Systems Transformation practice is to lead and support the development of innovative, regenerative and scalable solutions that benefit millions of people in low income places. Regenerative agriculture is a pillar of TechnoServe's work in agri-food systems, encompassing programs that seek to increase the incomes of smallholder farmers by accelerating the inclusive and sustainable commercialization of agricultural markets. Primary Functions & Responsibilities: Strategy: Integrate regenerative approaches across TechnoServe's agriculture work and contribute to TechnoServe's achievement of strategic goals.
Business Development: Secure funding for regenerative agriculture and market systems development programs
Technical Support: Scale impact through consistently high-quality delivery and adaptation of programs Provide technical assistance to TechnoServe programs around the world, working with program teams to ensure high quality program execution, development and application of best practices, and gathering and use of evidence for continuous improvement.
Thought Leadership and Knowledge Sharing: Advance TechnoServe's thought leadership on regenerative agriculture and market systems development, and ensure access to effective tools and resources
Basic Qualifications:
Required Languages: Fluency in English required. Competence in Spanish, Portuguese and/or French is preferred. Travel: Travel up to 30% domestic and international Preferred Qualifications:

Our preference is for the Director to be based in our Arlington, VA, Headquarters, working from the office twice per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays). However, we will consider applicants from a country where TechnoServe has operations. These applicants would follow the TechnoServe Country Office schedule where they are hired.
