Senior Test Station Automation Engineer

Your Job

Molex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Station Automation Engineer with expertise in C, C++, Python, and UI design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, a keen eye for user-centric design, and the ability to drive complex projects from concept to completion.

You will be responsible for working with our team to create, maintain and update software applications, APIs and tools that focus on the design, manufacture, and deployment of our optical modules, including controlling embedded devices and lab equipment. The developer will work closely with the project manager, process and optical engineers as well as our technicians to design and implement various process requests.

In Bridgewater, we serve large, global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support the growing need for data and communications. We are developing optical connectivity solutions, optoelectronic solutions, Wavelength Selective Switch Solutions, and fiber optic assemblies and arrays.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and deploy software solutions to support manufacturing processes. This includes managing component subassemblies, component alignment (manual and automated), automated calibration and automated testing.
• Evaluate and analyze process requirements, and document processes through flowcharts, diagrams, and code comments with consistent clarity. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources effectively.
• Participate in code reviews, to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, optical and process engineers to review specifications and process instructions, produce technical documentation.
• Perform application testing prior to deployment, maintain deployed applications and investigate released applications for potential user and performance improvements.
• Manage post-deployment bug fixing, troubleshooting issues, and perform tests to ensure optimal product performance.
• Manages tasks with software tracking software as well as providing code updates within our Revision control system
• Prepare operating manuals for users, train them, and provide ongoing support and assistance, ensuring their understanding and satisfaction with the software.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in C/C++ development for embedded or lab control software
• Fluent in C or C++, Windows API, DLLs, and interfaces
• Proficient in object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, Ruby, and Python
• Familiarity with communication protocol APIs like Serial, FTP, TCPIP, etc.
• Knowledge of Test and Measurement devices and associated APIs, including controlling embedded devices
• Demonstrated track record of learning new processes and methodologies quickly and efficiently while adhering to strict deadlines
• Good attitude while working with others, and capable of solving problems outside the specific task

What Will Put You Ahead

• Knowledge of National Instruments' LabWindows programming environment is a plus
• Experience in Physics and/or Optics-related software processes

Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. If you have questions, please speak to your recruiter about the flexibility and detail of our compensation philosophy. For this role, we anticipate paying $130,000 - $160,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
