JOB SUMMARY

This position partners with content experts to develop, implement, and facilitate simulated based education through the development of curricula, instructional design methods, scenarios, debriefing scripts, as well as an evaluation plan for SBE.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education/Social Science, or related field
  • Experience

  • 5 years of experience in appropriate field required
Preferred
  • Experience

  • 2 years in simulation capacity
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Preferred Certified Simulation Healthcare Educator. Upon Hire

JOB DUTIES
  • Assists faculty in the development of scenarios in simulation for the teaching and formative assessment of learners.
  • Assists in the integration of simulation educational activities into medical school and discipline specific curricula.
  • Program cases/scenarios to be used for high fidelity simulation and tests them to ensure performance meets educational needs and goals.
  • Runs high fidelity manikin and standardized patient simulation sessions including simultaneous, multi-manikin sessions and multi station-task training ones.
  • Assists with teaching and debriefing of simulation sessions.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement, innovation and development of initiatives for the integration of simulation in clinical education and curriculum.
  • Creates and delivers presentations regarding all aspects of simulation.
  • Maintains knowledge of use, operation and programming of different simulator technologies ranging from anatomic models, task trainers and high fidelity mannequins.
  • Facilitates training session for faculty, fellows, and staff as needed.
  • Supports and promote simulation use across campus.
  • Provides demonstrations to all prospective groups and visitors.
  • Participates in the revision/development of cases to be used in teaching settings or OSCEs with standardized patients and other simulations.
  • Coordinates and conduct training of standardized patients for high stakes Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) exams for learners.
  • Assists in the quality assurance of all evaluation tools and exam write ups in the high stakes OSCE.
  • Assists in the administration of the high stakes OSCE for learners.
  • Develops and supports hybrid simulation event using both high fidelity manikin and standardized patients.
  • Participates in simulation related educational research, analyze data, and write for publications.
  • Represents the University in outside meeting and presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
