CVPICU

This is a 13-week assignment with shifts scheduled every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday). The primary unit is the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The candidate must be willing to float to Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) if needed for an appropriate assignment. Floating to additional units may be required based on skill set and hospital needs, with confirmation required from the traveler.

• Must have 2 years of PICU critical care experience with 1 year of cardiac experience, both documented on a skills checklist.
• Competency in caring for CT patients with conditions such as ASD, VSD, AV Canal Defect, Valve replacements, Glenn and Fontan procedures, TOF, s/p cardiac cath and ablations, cardiac transplant, and post cardiac surgery.
• Experience with healthcare pacemakers and Tele monitoring is required.
• Proficiency in BIPAP/CPAP, vents, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs is required.
• Patient ratio is 1:2, to be confirmed with the traveler.
• Unit consists of 19 beds.
• BLS & PALS certifications are required; NRP is preferred.
• Charting is done using the EPIC system.
• First-time travelers are not accepted.
• Scrub color is Navy Blue.
