SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. KEY RESULTS AREAS
- Engineering support for the production team
- Support day to day downtime occurrences requiring engineering support.
- Coordinate with maintenance group on PM and work order systems.
- Develop and design engineered solutions to improve productivity and uptime.
- Lead safe work environment
- Develop and facilitate workplace safety as related to engineering.
- Ensure new and existing equipment meets all safety requirements including lifting devices, interlocks, LOTO, protocol, and safe programming.
- Improve overall safety metrics through improvement projects.
- Maintenance support
- Assist in repairs, upgrades, contract work, design, and develop standards/procedures for production maintenance.
- Coordinate utility projects either internally or externally sourced to facilitate equipment moves and integration.
- Work with facility manager to coordinate contractor installations, specifically equipment installations.
- Support to new product launches as it pertains to production
- Manufacturing engineering support for product launches through coordination with program managers on effectively introducing new products.
- Compliance with all APQP tasks associated with operations.
- Indirect team member for problem solving projects
- Work with other engineers in design, controls, quality, and welding to facilitate projects which improve operations, technology, process improvement, etc.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 2-3+ years of experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment with industrial automation equipment.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Technical skills
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts, engineering principles, APQP, PPAP, KPI metrics, and OSHA/safety principles.
- Hard competencies
- Good problem-solving ability and results oriented.
- Customer focused and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Soft competencies
- Cooperation/collaboration across departments to achieve set goals.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Some kneeling or reaching may be required.
- Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance or emergency response.
