Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as research assistant for UNC's Maternal Fetal-Medicine Units Network projects as well as other OB/ GYN research projects. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to assisting with screening OB and GYN clinic schedules for potential recruits, Enrollment and consent of qualified recruits, Assisting PI with protocol visits in clinic and CTRC (including colonoscopy and LEEP procedures, specimen collection, processing, and packaging for shipment.) Data collection and entry, maintaining adequate supplies and research equipment, assisting the primary research coordinator. Other tasks may be assigned by the supervisor or the principal investigator.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The applicant must have technical knowledge and skill in OB/ GYN, either in a clinical setting or research setting. He/She must have the ability to keep current with developments and trends. He/She must possess working knowledge of the research principles, technical methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry including methods of data entry, collection and analysis, and summarizing and reporting results to complete defined assignments independently. He/She must also have the ability to communicate and present information to team members and study subjects and to ensure that information related to research is understood. Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others. Selected candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to work with others in a professional manner. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple studies independently required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preferred candidate should be fluent in English and Spanish. He/She should have experience with Microsoft office products and EPIC medical record system.
