Job Description
HCC is seeking a customer service-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to support the College's Workforce Technology Pathways department. The program assistant orders textbooks and other instructional supplies; coordinates and tracks contract training and open enrollment offerings; communicates with instructors and students regarding scheduling and other inquiries; creates and modifies instructor contracts; works with online education vendors; provides general support of contract and open enrollment offerings; and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. The program assistant will also be a Pearson Vue Administrator who administers tests and updates the Pearson Vue server and PCs. An occasional Saturday or evening hour may be required.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Required Education
Associate degree
Required Experience
Two years of administrative support in an office environment
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel skills, along with experience in all Microsoft Office products (Teams, Sharepoint, Stream, OneNote, etc).
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education experience
  • Knowledge of Banner or other ERP and Pearson Vue Center Administrator experience is preferred.

Hours per Week 20
General Weekly Work Schedule
To be determined with supervisor. Very infrequent night and weekend work needed.
